Counselling supervision in Birmingham and Solihull

I offer individual and group clinical counselling supervision in Solihull and Birmingham to psychotherapists, counsellors, caseworkers, managers and support workers. I provide training supervision for those currently undergoing counselling or Psychotherapy training. My aim is to support and grow practitioners in a dynamic and creative supervision. I have extensive experience in supervising and managing counselling organisation with trainee counsellors from Maple Leaf, Warwick University and Coleshill Counselling services.

My approach is relational and aims to compassionately support , whatever stage of their career they are at. I am familiar with Psychodynamic, Gestalt, Person-centred, CBT and TA approaches. I draw on Shohet and Hawkins' 7 eyed supervision model which I find to be an excellent foundation for supervisory work. This approach focuses on aspects such as the counselling relationship, the impact on the therapist, the co-creation between supervisee and supervisor, interventions, formulations/conceptualisations and the phenomenology of the client. The supervision I offer is in depth with a focus on new understandings in client work.

I have a qualification in supervision from the Manchester Institute of Psychotherapy.

I also have counselling supervision experience working for the Victim Support Homicide service, a number of Children's centres in Birmingham, Footsteps Bereavement charity and a children's home. I am passionate about helping therapists reach their potential, work with clients dynamically and at relational depth. Please feel free to call me for an initial chat about how we might work together.

My fees are £50 for an hour or £40 if you are in training. Shorter or longer sessions are available.

I am also an independent trainer.

I also provide tailor made training on subjects such as:

  • Theraputic parenting
  • Adoption and Fostering
  • Trauma and anxiety
  • Attachment
  • Working at relational depth
  • Working with Sandtray

I have taught a number of counselling related subjects such as clinical skills, ethics, working with couples, working with groups, the therapeutic relationship and supervision. I have been a lecturer for Birmingham City University and Newman University. Currently, I am an international trainer on working with Couples and have delivered training for Therapy Associates Marbella, North West Counselling services and The Jewish Marriage Council.

I have worked independently in schools and organisations and would welcome contact if you are looking for a therapist, suspervisor or trainer.
